NBA All-Star voting is underway, and there are plenty of surprises at the top of the lists for each conference. In the West, James Harden and Anthony Davis are missing from the top-five, while Derrick Rose and Luka Doncic garner support. And in the East, Dwyane Wade is currently fifth in votes.

Paul Pierce thinks that results like this suggest that the voting formula should change, reducing the impact of fan voting, because it can sometimes have too much influence.

“I think the All-Star votes should change. I think the [fan vote] should be only 25 percent because that’s not right,” Pierce said. “Players should get 50 percent, and then media get the other 25 percent because players are going to keep it real.”
