The Houston Rockets have reportedly offered the Minnesota Timberwolves four first-round picks in an effort to acquire All-Star Jimmy Butler. Butler is undoubtedly a talented player, but would the Rockets be giving up too much to acquire his services?

Paul Pierce reacts to this news on The Jump, and he has an interesting perspective, given that he was traded to the Brooklyn Nets for a massive haul of draft picks that ended up greatly benefiting the Celtics. However, Paul thinks the Rockets offer wouldn’t backfire like the trade Nets-Celtics trade did for Brooklyn.

“They are a team that pushed the Warriors to seven games,” Pierce said. “The Houston Rockets were right there, so Daryl Morey is obsessed with beating the Warriors. I say you go and do it.”
