After an 0-3 start, the Los Angeles Lakers finally picked up their first win of the season, defeating the Phoenix Suns 131-113. However, Paul wants to see what the Lakers can do against a talented Denver Nuggets team on Thursday night at the Staples Center.

The Suns are a very young, inexperienced team that struggled enough last season to obtain the No. 1 overall pick in the draft. On the other hand, the Nuggets were a borderline playoff team a season ago in the Western Conference, and they have reloaded and should be in the playoff picture this season. And a win against Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets would be far more impressive.

“When you’re 0-3, any win is good just for the team’s confidence,” Pierce said. “They need to get a signature win against a very good team.”
