Damian Lillard made some recent comments to The Athletic that he would like to be a Portland Trail Blazer for his entire career, while also acknowledging the nature of the business that can often times prevent such a scenario.

Paul, who thought he would be a lifetime Celtic, weighed in on these comments on The Jump to discuss how likely it is for Lillard to end his career in Rip City. For now, it appears he will remain with the Blazers for the next several years, but things can change quickly in this era in the NBA.

“There are going to be a lot of factors, especially with a guard,” Pierce said. “It’s all about who values you the most, especially as a guard…If they feel like they can’t move forward with with Damian Lillard, then I don’t know if they would re-sign him for that big contract again.”
