The NBA recently announced their reserves for this year’s upcoming All-Star game.
Paul Pierce mentioned that Al Horford was deserving of his All-Star game spot.
“Al Horford has been solid as a rock.” Pierce also said, “His numbers don’t jump out at the screen, but when he’s out there he’s one of the best passing big-men…his impact when he’s not in the game is definitely felt.”
Pierce also feels as if Ben Simmons was deserving of a spot but fell short. He gives Simmons a lot of credit for keeping the Philadelphia 76ers in the playoff hunt this season.
Pierce’s two other Western Conference reserve picks were Karl-Anthony Town and Paul George.
“Karl-Anthony Towns is the anchor of a very good and up-and-coming Minnesota team. Paul George, I just don’t see them doing well without this guy on the court. When this guy scores 30, they’re unbeatable…He’s a double-double machine and a nightmare on the block.”
